President Conway-Turner, Vice President LeVine Invite Campus to SEFA Campaign Launch

Buffalo State’s annual State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign begins on Wednesday, October 1. Faculty and staff are invited to attend the kick-off event, held that day in the Campbell Student Union Assembly Hall at 12:15 p.m.
“We hope that faculty and staff will join us as we recognize volunteers, leadership givers, and representatives from SEFA and the United Way,” said Michael LeVine, vice president for finance and management. LeVine is chairing Buffalo State’s 2014 SEFA campaign. SEFA is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
"Buffalo State faculty and staff are always very generous," said LeVine. "I look forward to the opportunity to thank our supporters and to explain how your gifts make a difference." Representatives from both SEFA and the United Way will be on hand to describe the benefits that SEFA provides to people in need and to organizations that promote the community’s well-being.
On August 20, volunteers from Buffalo State helped to tidy the grounds of the historic Concordia Cemetery, and to organize the resettlement donation room at Jewish Family Services of Buffalo and Erie County. "This is the first time that we will recognize the volunteers who took part in the United Way Day of Caring," said Margaret Shaw-Burnett, associate vice president for continuing professional studies, who coordinated that event.
President Conway-Turner will also be on hand to honor the volunteers and donors, and to encourage the Buffalo State community to give generously. "I am sure that faculty and staff at Buffalo State will continue to support SEFA," said Conway-Turner. "In just two months, I have come to understand the close ties between Buffalo State and the Western New York community. I know that we will make a strong contribution to the many agencies that benefit from this campaign."
